You don't need links to lower the front, but I have always heard that it will affect steering if you don't lower the rear as well (which will require lowering links).

Lowering just the front a full inch will make turn in when initiating a turn much quicker (maybe even twitchy), and you might notice a loss of high speed stability. You might want to try just lowering it a half inch at first and see how it feels. All you need to do to lower the front is raise the fork tubes in the triple clamps.

Changing the height on one end of the bike, without changing it on the other alters the steering geometry.

so if i lower both the front and the back my bike will still steer the same. i dont really want it to steer different. just like the look of the lowered bike. and how hard is it to lower the rear?

To lower the rear, you'll need to find either longer (i think) dog bones, or find adjustable links.

IMO it's foolish to lower a motorcycle for "looks."

I do kinda too agree with that. But if i can lower it and it handles the same then i get the best of both worlds. If i lower it and the handling changes, then i will raise it back up

Lowering it will cost you some cornering clearance.

Odds are after this advice, ima just keep it stock height. I mean, i can flat foot the bike right now, so its not that im too short or anything. thanks guys

Yup, just 1" can make it way easier to drag pegs/exhaust and in some bikes have the front tire/mudguard hit the frame. Not saying that will the case with you but just beware that it can happen.

I found these adjustable lowering links on ebay yesterday. they seem to be a little more sturdy than the aluminum bars.
