  • WANTED Wing Mirriors for 88, 1100

After cleaning her on the weekend I noticed that I could not adjust the wing mirrors. I have tried moving them in every direction but they will not move.

I think they might be seized, so I'm looking to replace them.

Has anyone got a spares set they would like to sell me.

    Thanks

    Tok

and that is the price on bikebandit. add another $50 at the stealership.
in canada, I paid close to $300 for one wayyyy back in 95 or so, before I knew of BB.

Tok, there is an upside to having stuck mirrors. if you can get them set, they don't move.
the 88 mirrors are solid compared to the 91+ mirrors. I have had stuck 88 mirrors before, and what I did was removed them from the bike, wrapped a cloth around the stem and clamped it in a vice. this allowed me to force a bit more without the fear of breaking something when they were on the bike. all you need to do is free it up just enough to be able to adjust them on the bike. not being completely freed up can be a good thing.

I did run across one that was jammed solid. I clamped it in a vice, upside down, and made a small access hole in the rubber seal just big enough to get the spray tube from a can of wd40 into the hole, then I soaked the sh*t outta it and let it set a day or two. worked like a charm. might leak out wd40 for a while, but still better than coughing up $150.

I have to cough up $150 for a new one myself. broke one off when I dumped at the rally. what sucks is that I have a brand spankin' new one that matches paint color and everything, but the side I snapped off is not the same side as the new one I have.
