Insufficient or no oil. Aluminum sprockets need to be oiled about three times as often as regular sprockets because there is no polar attraction between the oil and the aluminum -- at least once per tankful.
Used a new sprocket with an old chain.
That's about all I can think of that would do it that bad, that fast. Even 4k of wheelies shouldn't eat the teeth like that with a healthy chain and sufficient oil.

What are you complaining about?? That thing has at least and other 1K miles...man throwing away an almost new sprocket....Good judgement comes from experience, and often experience comes from Bad Judgement :smt084
