Best mods for a pre 98?

I have a 96 Kat and wanted to know what are the best performance mods and where to get them? Also, are there any cross over parts from the GSXR's?

The best performance mods, in order, IMHO:

Tires.
Advanced rider courses (track days, instructor one-on-ones)
Suspension (fork rebuild, new rear shock)
Brakes (SS-lines, good pads, good rotors)
Jetkit.

Slightly modified...

Tires. if stock
Advanced rider courses (track days, instructor one-on-ones) can't possible argue
Suspension (fork rebuild, new rear shock)IMO after brakes
Brakes (SS-lines, good pads, good rotors) IMO before suspension!
Sprocket Changes IMO before jetting etc.. Sprockets may be due for replacement. Tuning etc are not needed.

Question...........did your 1996 come with a centerstand? Mine didn't just wondering if I need to try and put one on.

No, it does not have a centerstand.

I see. I undertsnad that the centerstand was an "option" on the 1996....that's kinda strange. Guess I'll go eBaying

Nope they all came with one. Someone removed yours.

That makes more since.. Why would it be an option?

Not sure why it would be an option, but per the three dealers I've called today the centerstand (now discontinued) was NOT stock on the 1996 600.

I'll have to recheck my Owner's Manual, which is a combo for the 750 & 600. But I'm almost positive the pages with the info on the stands shows the 750 with a side & center, and the 600 with just a side....but heck, I could be wrong.

I want one that's all I know.........
