    Over the last 2 years I've had my GSX-R, I think I may have turned on the shift light 3 times. Heck most of the time on the street I don't get over 10k rpm anyways.

      It's for when you're on the track and have other things to pay attention to.

      I have mine set at 13k since that's where I hit peak power, the rest up to 15.5k is just overrev.
