    This situation is very simple. I found the attached part in a box of old motorcycle paraphernalia I inherited from the previous owner. It was coated in oil still and it looks rather important.

    I'd like to know what it is and where it's located so I can check to ensure it is in fact an old part that got replaced and isn't currently missing from the bike.

    Cam Chain Tensioner.

    Bike would not run with it not installed... at least, not for long, and not with out causing some nasty damage.

    Located on a Kat directly below the carbs, center of the engine. Not easy to see/access with out taking some stuff out of the way.
