high beam switch

i've been wanting to add new headlights to my Kat and ive been wondering...if i get low beam only bulbs (not dual filament) is it possible to tap into the high beam switch for it to toggle something else? is there a wire going to each headlight harness that is solely used to toggle high beams on/off and is it safe to tap into it for switched power?

Actually interested in this question as well. I wonder if I can hook up the DDM Hid's to low beam and the angle eyes to high beams and with it turned to High beams it would be the angle eyes without the headlights on?? Hmm.. I'll wait for the more knowledgeable people to chime in here.

yngveny beat me to it. Take a look at the wiring diagram to see what you've got. You want to run the HID power through a relay so that can be triggered with the original high-beam. The angel-eyes should be low enough current draw to run straight from the original low-beam.

Hi/low beam are 2 seperate circuits with a singular in line. When you flip the switch, you change which out your using.

On the pre kat, the switch can actually engage both circuits at the same time if it hangs in the middle turning on both hi and low.

I'd forgotten about that. Angel eyes get powered by a relay, triggered by the yellow/white wire going to the dimmer switch. High beam relay gets triggered by the yellow wire.
