  • Suzuki Katana Scooter????

I'm not sure if this has been brought up before but i think that suzuki should be ashamed disgracing the name of a great bike by giving the name to a scooter.

    and it's only 50cc, too.

Well, that model looks to be an 06 actually...

Across the pond they call the katana a "GSXF".
Florida, the only place where you need your windshield wipers and sunglasses. At the same time.

For some reason suzuki only decided the market the "katana" name in North America as far as I know. Every other country it's the GSXF. If you look at the Europe and Australian market bike they are branded with GSXF logos rather than Katana logos.

It's a "street-racer" scooter(lol). I actually wouldn't mind owning a nice scooter. A buddy of mine owns a couple over in Ocean City, and they're a blast to ride around on near the beach.

also often referred to as a T-pot due to the shape of the plastics and considered an insult to the styling of the original Katana
                  it ain't broke ....

Here in Texas, 50cc's and down, no licenses required to ride it on the street. But still....shame on Suzuki for calling it a Katana. I wonder if there is a Katscooters board?.
It's not speed that kills, it's the deceleration!

I use to have a Burgman 400 scooter. A bit more power than the UK Katana but the same idea. Great agility and an automatic makes for a super way to beat the inner city rush hour.

If I had space for two bikes I would have kept that Burgy, but riding the highway was a bit more important to me than inner city commuting.

Manufacturers often recycle a name or rebrand a product in different regions. They already own the trademark.

Is it an embarrassment that Honda used the CBR tradename for their 125cc entry level offering?
