i stop filling when i can no longer keep it from splashing out of the filler onto the tank. basically depends on how slowly i can add the gas.

I try to fill up the tank as much as possible as I hate having to stop for fill ups.

i jam all i can into mine when i fill it. as in starts to overflow.

Well , If I fill mine up too much , it'll start coming out of the overflow when I park . I've filled up a few times and moved my bike out of the way only to find a puddle of gas under the bike from the overflow tube dealy . Just to the bottom of the neck is good enough .
