I'm Thomas. I recently bought a 2006 Katana 600 which I picked up off a girl who got a DUI (so can't ride) with an alleged (at least by odometer) under 11k miles on it for $1,600. I'm new to riding and am still working on getting my motorcycle license. I like the bike so far but as I say I'm new and don't have much experience to compare others to. It runs well but she had it sitting for about 6 months since her DUI and it took me and some friends about 45 minutes to get it running after sitting for so long. I do notice that it seems to not be getting a more or less pure stream of power when accelerating. This could just be my novice riding skills but a motorcycle mechanic told me he hears some hissing noises from the engine when it's idling. He told me it could be due to the fact that it was a high 80 degree day and the bike is all black. Anyways hello and thanks for the forum admin.
