Shock Fitment Question

First off I did the search and found all the threads about shocks and fitments... But i could not find one that says if a rear shock from a 1988 katana 1100 would fit onto a pre 600
Any idea????

That I don't know about...
I do know that kat 600, 750, and Bandit 600 & 1200 shocks will be a straight swap, along with some years GSXR1100... So I'm thinking it's a weak "maybe."

The reason why i am asking is that I have a 88kat 1100 frame with a shock on it still and a buddy has a 91 kat 600 that could use a new rear shock.

Well, that 88 shock may have already had a hard life...

I picked up a 2002 kat 600 shock for Kristin's bike for like $50 shipped.

Yeah , and any Kat1100 shock you're likely to find would probably be pretty close to done anyway . I mean , it's gonna be at least what , 14 years old ?
