I paid $6199 for a new 06 750 Kat. I am 6'3" and 220 pounds. For the money I paid, I can't imagine riding a better sport touring bike. I would challenge you to find a more stable and comfortable bike in the same class as a Katana for less money. Find one that is comfortable for you and quit worrying about others' opinions or thoughts. If you like whatever bike you choose great. I agree that it sounds like you have already made up your mind.
