Hey guys, I'm working on the GF's '96 Kat to replace the clutch cable. I got the shift lever and the 5 bolts off but the cover won't come off. It seems there's something caught around the area where the clutch cable comes in.

Do I have to remove anything where the adjuster is? The manual just says to remove the lever and screws.

Do you have a large rubber grommet covering the clutch adjustment hole. If so there is a large nut behind it.

You missed a bolt . I'm pretty sure there's 6 , and it's right in the middle of the cover .

md86 got it right, I "cracked" the 6th bolt but never removed it completely. That'll teach me to do this is "low light" conditions.

        Thanks for your responses.
