  • My 600 build

I bought this bike a year ago for $400. It had been laid down and sat for YEARS..including at least 5 outdoors and uncovered...completely exposed to the elements. The owner had purchased the replacement plastics but never put it back together. It sat in pieces until I got it, I took a gamble buying it because I had no idea if it even ran! It has 18k miles on it and still needs a bit of cleaning but is 10x better than it was a year ago.

Here's what I've done so far:
Clean carbs, replace a few floats and gaskets (twice)
    new front tire
    rebuilt front brakes (new pads)
cleaned rear brake system (new pads)
    new battery
    installed new clutch
    new plugs
    new fuel and vacuum lines

Painted plastics and smoked windscreen (spray paint from Lowes...)
    flush mounted front turn signals
    aftermarket, shorter rear signals
    aftermarket mirrors
complete yoshi exhaust system (came with the bike)

I'm looking to replace the rear tail light with led, new chain and make a fender eliminator. (the previous owner sawed off the fender)

In all I have about $500 into the bike and am on my second season with it...It still needs some work but is a great bike for a casual rider like me.

    I appreciate your comments!

it runs great, though coming to a stop after an interstate run it seems to want to idle a little low, but that's no biggie
