  • being uncomfortable

I rode to work yesterday after not being able to ride for a couple weeks due to weather. the whole ride both ways I felt uneasy. I couldn't seem to get my lines correct and was going slower in the curves than I was before. it just didn't feel right. today I felt more comfortable. maybe it was rust or just intuition. this ever happen to any of you?

Hell that happened just last week..
    Hadn't ridden in a few weeks and I wasn't
comfortable until the end of the ride..

Listen to it. I had heard once that most accidents
occur during the first rides of the season..

Yup. I went on a few rides where I just couldn't get into the "grove" of being on the bike. Once it was so bad I even got disoriented. Hmmm...maybe I should rethink about whether or not I should be riding a motorcycle.

        Everybody has an "off" day.

You can't be at 100% all the time. Trust your gut and take it easy on the days you find yourself questioning your abilities.

Yep, especially after a break. I try to take my time and get back in the groove. If I am feeling really uneasy I will turn around and park the bike. I have heard of too many people that go down after ignoring that little voice in their head.

It's your women's intuition telling you something taint quite right... could be a minor imbalance in your inner ear, a mechanical issue, something just below the surface of your consciously noticing that's throwing you off -- either way, listen to that inner voice. Most decisions made on that basis are right (statistically speaking) and the price for being wrong in this particular case can be way too high.

I have had days where I cut my ride short just because af a "something just does'nt feel right" sensation. It is better to end a ride by choice than to ride with your head in the clouds.

Don't worry about off days, especially early in the season. Just take it easy, relax, trust your instincts and if your not "feeling it" on a particular day, dont push yourself. As you get out riding more and more you'll get back in the groove.
