  • removing face sheild

When I bought my Kat, I had to buy a helmet from the dealer to get it home. I bought a Fulmer afd4. Since I did not take the box that it came with, I did not get any instructions on how to remove the face sheild. I want to clean the side areas that have filled up with dust and pollen. There are two screws on each side. You can get to one but the sheild covers the other. I can not figure how to get the dawn thing off.

Can someone take me through the steps?

Looks like it comes apart just like my HJC. Push the little levers back, and carefully pull the face shield off.

I'll admit that I don't have my helmet near me right this second, but I tried swapping my shield earlier tonight and had a rough go at it. Would it be possible for someone to circle the "lever" for the mentally incompetant..I'm sure it's obvious and I'll feel like a complete moron for not seing it but earlier tonight I was looking for an easy way to do this. Dealer even had trouble when I had him slap a new shield on it before leaving the showroom.

Why would you make such a comment to avoid Arai's at all cost? They are one of the best helmets for protection and for comfort. If you ever go to the races check out what is sitting on the melons of 80% of the riders.

Besides, we all know SHARKS are the best helmet on the market
Some people are a lot like Slinkys.
Not really good for anything, but bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

I don't have any problem with removing my visor and while it may not be as idiot proof as some other helmets after switching face shields a few dozen times I'm getting pretty quick at it.
