  • Dirty gas tank - cleaned CARBS = still dirty/clogged carbs?

So my problem was...i needed the carbs cleaned..
but i also found out i had a bunch of crud/junk in the gas tank -

I cleaned the carbs twice -and ran it with the dirtygas/dirty filter

So i cleaned/flushed out the gas tank as much as possible its 90%clean no surface rust just a tiny bit where petcock thing is and the sensor theres a little rust on there where it sits lower then the actual tank so it can settle there.

but Gas tanks cleaned, new filter, new gas
The bike only starts up when i give it throttle and only after i spray starterfluid in there.. BUT when it starts it doesnt stay started..and when i give it throttle i rev it up sumwhat quick but slowly to like 5-6k RPMS n then it just cuts off, but doesnt always start up..

Im wondering if the carbs need to be cleaned again bcuz something might be clogged again or something just bcuz i ran it with dirty tank/and a filter.

and let me say b4 i cleaned out the tank it wouldnt start at all..
after being cleaned it sounds more *capable*...l

clean the carbs again, you gummed them up by not cleaning your tank first.
