  • windscreen opinions

ive read whats on here about the different windscreen options, and now would like some opinions.

i'm not tall, but i remember my last kat caused alot of helmet buffeting. This also could have been partly because I wore a cheap helmet at the time with poor shape. I have a much better helmet now but when i get my next bike soon...

    1) Is there a noticable difference between OEM and zero gravity DB windscreen?

    2) i really dont care about looks, so i wouldn't mind the taller touring screen. I just wonder if i really need to to be that high

I'm under 5'7" so i only need a slight improvement. if I end up going with another 600, i'll probably be putting on the bar risers, so thats a factor.

bottom line: do you think the DB will make enough difference over stock to do the job for my height and riding position?

    thanks

i like the stock screen personallly but then again i dont have a valid comparison as a base. the windscreen on kats are so low i dont know that the aftermarket screens would be worth the investment. jmho

I had changed my 04 over to a tinted chinese piece
Fit was really good but it didnt have the rolled top edge like the stock one
The rolled edge does effect the air flow
I concidered getting some door edging like what is on the edge of the tank where it meets the fairing
I thought the edging would have enough of a rib to simulate the stock air flow

Yeah I saw that for cosmetic comparison..I was mostly wondering about db vs oem for wind deflection

If you decided to get a zero gravity one check out their other store. www.zgoutlet.com can find screens a little cheaper.

Not sure about the kat as I've never ridden one but I've always found a little bit of air pressure on my shoulders made riding more not less comfortable, taking some weight off your arms etc, a db could be an expensive way of finding that you've actually made the bike less comfortable.
When I want your opinion I'll tell you it!!!!!
