  • Bike won't start

I have a '98 750 and it sat for about 2-3 months without being cranked. I tried to start it and it wouldn't, so i pulled out the spark plugs and replaced them, then i drained the carbs and completely charged the battery. It still won't start up. It sounds like it is at the point just before it turns over and starts running but i can't get it past that point. Any ideas/advice would be great. Thanks

Did you clean the carburetors as well as drained them? I would get them off and follow Carbs 102 to clean them thoroughly, and also drain all of the old gas from the tank and replace it with new gas. Don't forget to re-sync the carbs if need be.

Start with simple first......... drain whatever gas you have in the tank....fresh fill.... try to jump it from a non-running car\truck. If it fires up, get rid of the battery.
sigpicLife throws you curves......enjoy the ones you get when riding.

Pull a plug and make sure it has spark?
Did you put it on prime after you drained the old gas?
