I'm not up on physics and stress dynamics, but that just looks wrong to me. I don't think I could trust it, IMO.

I remember reading a note from a ( ?Suzuki? ) Mechanics bulletin about those, which basically said "DON'T!". Something about the speed of the output shaft of the tranny at full speed for hundreds or thousands of miles causing problems. If you were willing to drop your chain each time, I can't see it being an issue, as long as you are sure your back brakes aren't touching (but that would mean rear brakes specifically designed to retract, say organics with cast-iron rotors) and you do more maint on the rear wheel bearings than you otherwise would.
