  • Oil Change Tools Question...

OK, so i'm not mechanically inclined....

I'm going to get some stuff to change my oil this weekend.

    - OEM Oil Filter
    - 10w40 API SF/SG + JASO-MA Synthetic Oil (4qt)
    - Torque Wrench
    - Oil Filter Wrench
    - 20mm Socket

So my problem is... most of the torque wrenches i'm seeing online only go down to 20ft/lbs of pressure.... and the guide says like 16.5ft/lbs... so where the heck do i find one of these wrenches and is it really that sensitive to spend $40-60 dollars on a torque wrench to change my oil?!?!

Does everything else on my list look right? I have a 1999 Kat 600.

    Thanx...

you can rent for free from Autozone a torque wrench ( you buy and when you give it back the reimbourse you). But I don't know if it goes down to 16.5
