Somebody advised me to heat up the high places on the airbix and push them in a bit, that worked.
I also cut some short metal pieces to connect the airbox to the tank support bracket, about a 20mm offset from stock.

I had an issue with the swingarm brace and the muffler support bolt, it's head got trapped under the brace, so the swingarm was not swinging down. Plus, the clutch was slipping. I did a whole track day with it like that.
On the track day I had both those issues, I was demoted for not being able to keep up out of the turns, I also had to rise off the seat and ride the pegs through the bumpy corners.

I redid my muffler hanging rackets and fixed that issue.
The slipping clutch I figured out when I looked at the installation warnings for new clutch discs, it stated "They should NOT to be used with 100% synthetic oil". Bummer that's what I put in there!
So I drained that out and poured in standard motorcycle oil, the clutch seems to be gripping good again.

I'm wondering about those 750 carbs on that motor. Ever get the RPMs down ?

Default Took a year off, I'm flakey…

Year later update; the bike is fantastic on the track and off, even if 28 years out of date.
Replaced the steel rear subframes with an aluminum subframe from a 93 GSXR 750, bought a Bikemaster Lithium Ion battery and got some small slip-on muffers on there.
Combined weight lose of 40lb!!!
Really blew away most of the other riders in the novice category. I think I was the 5th fastest out of 20 novice riders. My 8th track day in the last 3 years.
The slip-ons really let the engine rev, redlined it in 3rd gear on the back straight 1744', that's 130 MPH, 11500 RPM. With baffles still in the mufflers too.
Not good enough to touch a knee down yet, and that's a worthy goal. I need to have more trust in the tires and raise my corner speeds.
This level of riding is really tiring, my legs are exhausted after about 7 laps or 14 miles, I get off the track at that point. Come back fresh for the next 20 minute session.

Too busy to do research today, so on a level of 1-10 on the subframe swap ? I ask because I believe the 750 and 1100 tails are almost identical. Maybe I can shed a few pounds on my k11.

I would say the subframe swap including making a new rear bracket for the tail was EZ for somebody with handyman talent . Impossible for a slob.
I took off a lot of steel; 19lb, the aluminum sub felt like paper. The steel rear subframes were WAY OVERBUILT, can handle 1000+ lbs IMO, enough to crush the suspension like a bug.
More pics:
Here's my frame joints, uppers are not yet painted. Steel frame cut with a long tab and joined to the aluminum with two 6mm bolts, wrapped on 3 sides with 22 gauge steel and one more 6mm bolt. Did not add anymore bolts because it might weaken the aluminum end.
Welded 16 gauge steel to lower frame and bolted on the sub.

For the exhaust I cut open the Katana 1100 collectors near canister to see how it was constructed. They have a 1-3/4" pipe ending just before the canister. So I cut that at the midpoint, then carefully cut off the cone shaped cover at the base. Used a reducer with 6 cuts to allow further contraction, clamped the slip-on to the big end of the reducer, and that over the collector pipe. Between both sides I shed 15lbs off the exhaust.
