  • rear shock question

I'm looking at a pre 750. I'm 6'5" and 260. I'm looking for a rear shock that should handle my extra mass and i read the r6 one is good for around 200lbs. Any thoughts?

re-spring the R6 shock for your weight.

With your weight any shock will need resprung at the least if you want good performance.

Just a respring on the shock will not give you good handling though. You would need to revalve it as well. Yeah you could slap on a stiffer spring but then the rebound may be too fast. You are going to need a spring right about 17.9 kg/mm and most stock springs are right about 10.8 kg/mm. With that big of a difference in rate a revalve is essential.
