  • 2000 GSXF 750 Front and Rear Stand

    Hey All,

Ok, so after doing some searches, I see that the Katana doesn't have anywhere to install spools unless you do some mods.

So i've been looking around for rear and front stands (winter storage and general work on my bike) and found this:

I was wondering if this would just work right out of the box or if I needed to do something custom? If mods are required....does anyone have any other suggestions which are basically "out of the box working'"?

    Thanks,

    Al

They will probably work okay, but I've seen more than one bike slide off that style of rear stand. If you don't have a center stand I'd think about getting one.

      Thanks!

I do have a center stand on my kat. So basically, the Front stand alone would be ok? Illogical Newbie that I am, I didn't even think of the center stand.

So basically, this model "http://www.kapscomoto.com/product_p/smi3010.htm" would be fine without my needing to modify anything right?
Btw: If someone would recommend a different stand (under $80), i'd be open to that as well.

      Thanks!!!

      Al

I guess that depends on what you want the stands for

Basically, winter is coming and I don't want my bike on the concrete. Also, I need to take my front wheel off soon and I figure it's an effective way to do it.

There are other ways to get the front wheel off the ground besides the front stand. I've personally never had an issue with tires on concrete in winter

With the centerstand and two 24" 2X6 pieces of wood both wheels will be off the floor. On the centerstand you can also remove your front wheel with no problem and rest the forks on the two 2X6's while you do whatever work you need to do.
