  • Ok,dunno if I had read that somewhere or what.
If I do use the flatside carbs, I should be able to transfer them to a 750 engine when it comes time for that. If I am able to fit the RS36 flatside, which Arsenic is gonna help find the O.D., then it will also swap over to 87-92 1127.

    • Havent been able to do much the past couple weeks due to military training. But just got a chance to install Tmods preload adjusters. Very nice, accented with some traxxion tops they fit with the style I was looking for rather well.
Couple random pics thrown in as well as when I was diagnosing my inop brake light.

For that much have you considered swapping to fuel injection with a mega-squirt for easy tuning? Thats what I am doing for my 1127 engine. I have liberally estimated about $450 for parts and just some patience for tuning.

          • drjmoo1: I have been considering that same move. I need to do a little more research on it though.

                • I've heard that GSX650f throttle bodies are much easier to make fit than the GSXR bodies, but haven't seen any proof of such.

                  • I bought 750 throttle bodies for my 1100. As long as they are before 2003 I believe you should have no problem adjusting the spacing with threaded rod and simple hardware store bushings and spacers. As for the wiring it looks to me (based on this thread) you have all the wiring skills needed to deal with megasquirt.

Well got tired of looking at the bike in peices on such a beautiful yet windy day. So instead of working more on prepping the bodywork and tank for paint today, decided to clean out the parts bike tank and slap it and a seat on an went riding. Lol looks like it was just in a serious accident but still made for a good day. I'll post pics up later, I'm sure Mike will get a laugh at me using that tank on the bike.

                      • Well, since it is running well enough for now, looks like I will take the EFI plunge and learn my way through it. I will attempt it with GSX650F throttle bodies since I read they will match up. Also have the same model fuel pump and a bid in on a LC-1 wideband. So looks like I stilll need 1 or 2 more sensors, a fuel pressure regulator, and the Megasquirt itself. Looks as though I can save a little money buying it dissassembled, but not so much of a discounted rate to seem like it would be worth the time and effort to assmble it when it gets here.
Anyone who has or is currently working on EFI have a recommendation for a fuel pressure regulator?

I am using the one off a gsxr 750. The 98 and 99 models have them on the fuel rail. Is that an in tank pump that you got?

Yes it is an in tank, Looks like it will fit alot better than the GSXR intank pump. But if it doesn't fit I'm not out on the street since it will be free from a friend.

                              • Well parts are on the way. Throttle bodies and rail, adjustable fuel pressure regulater, and fuel pump. If I can get the in tank fuel pump to fit properly then it has a built in fuel filter/strainer so I won't have to worry about that. Got out bid on the LC-1 sensor an the price is getting up there now to the point where I may as well buy it new. So I believe all I have left to get is that, the Megasquirt system itself, and 2 temp sensors.
