  • Driving Songs

All right, I did a search and couldn't find a similar post. For those of you who listen to music while riding this is for you.

What is your playlist comprised of? Do you have certain songs that you really like to listen too? I'm trying to get some ideas for an awesome playlist to listen to while riding.

I make mix tapes (yeah , tapes , what of it ? ) . I make them based on moods . I'd give you some of my favorite songs ,but I have no idea what kind of music you like .

Well I'm not to picky when it comes to music, here is what I have so far.

        Black Betty - Ram Jam
Never Gonna Come Back Down - Gone in 60 Seconds Soundtrack
        Never Again - Nickelback
Third Rock from the Sun - Joe Diffie
        Demonoid Phenomenon - Rob Zombie
What Was I thinkin' - Dierks Bentley
Born to Be Wild - Steppenwolf
        Barracuda - Heart
Life in the Fast Lane - The Eagles
The Fight Song - Marilyn Manson
        Bad Habit - The Offspring
Paradise City - Guns N' Roses

As you can see so far it is a pretty diverse list, so I'm open to suggestions. It would be cool just to see what everybody else likes to listen to while driving to though.

I have a couple play lists (one's about 280 songs long, the other is about 3000 songs long) that I listen to while riding... But if you're looking for road/driving/riding specific tunes, then that's a whole different ballpark... What kind of music do you like?

              Here's a scattering vehicle/road-specific songs:
              409 (The Beach Boys)
              Cadillac Blues (Blue by Nature)
              Chevy Van (Sammy Johns)
              Convoy (C.W. McCall)
              Crossroads (Cream)
Da Bomb's In'a Backseat (Robin Barrett)
              Dirt Road Blues (Bob Dylan)
Driver's Seat (Sniff & the Tears)
Easy Rider/CC Rider (20 different bands covered this)
Free ride (Edgar Winter Group or Foghat)
              Hayride to Hell (Hoodoo Guru's)
Heavy Metal ["Takin' a Ride"] (Don Felder)
Highway 49 (Howlin' Wolf or George Thorogood)
              Highway Star (Deep Purple)
              Highway to Hell (AC/DC)
Highway to the Danger Zone [aka Top Gun Theme] (Kenny Loggins)
Hit the Road Jack (half a dozen cover bands)
I Get Around (The Beach Boys)
              Johnny B. Goode/Roadrunner (Sex Pistols)
Let it Ride (Bachman Turner Overdrive)
Look at that Cadillac (Stray Cats)
              Low Rider (War)
              Magic Carpet Ride (Steppenwolf)
              Mercury Blues (Steve Miller Band)
              Road to Nowhere (Talking Heads)
Rockin' Down the Highway (Doobie Brothers)
              Sausalito Summernight (Diesel)
Take the Money & Run (Steve Miller Band)
              The Loco-Motion (Grand Funk Railroad)
              The Motorcycle Song (Arlo Guthrie)
Tobacco Road (multiple versions - Rare Earth or Clapton or Cream)
Working on the Highway (Bruce Springsteen)

              Cheers,

I don't listen to music when I ride because my old helmet didn't allow for headphones and I was too lazy to fix it. Now, with the new lid I should have the room. Songs I would ride to would be...

                - The Hand That Feeds (Nine Inch Nails)
                - Animal (Def Leppard)
                - That Song (Big Wreck)
                - Blackhole Sun (Sound Garden)
                - Zero (Smashing Pumpkins)
                - Bawitdaba (Kid Rock)
                - Headspace (Velvet Revolver)
                - Save Yourself (Stabbing Westward)
"The secret to life is to keep your mind full and your bowels empty. Unfortunately, the converse is true for most people."
