  • 1990 Katana 600 idle problem

I have a 1990 gsx600f Katana that wants to idle at 2800-3000 rpm. I have cleaned the carbs very thoroughly and everything seems to be working fine. The cable is adjusted as far as I can adjust it. the idle adjuster screw isn't even touching the bottom of the throttle and the choke cable is adjusted all the way down. Yet with all of this it still wants to idle at 2800-3000. I am about to pull my hair out Please Help!!!

Did you separate the carb's when you cleaned them? Did you mess with any of the sync screws?

My brother was helping me with the cleaning one of the sync screws may have been turned not sure. As far as everything else it all stayed together.

Check your throttle linkage, maybe to tight and hanging up on you ~

Done that and the throttle linkage and cable are fine.

Did you do a visual sync when you had the carb off?
Did you make sure the carbs are seated tight on the boots?

Yep all that was done. It seems to be running better now. Still idling a little high but not to bad. Guess I just need to make a sync tool and do it the right way.
