I have blue lenses taht i did myself I can do them in any color you want and they still shine red or amber when the light is on but look blue when the light is off.I have had mine on for about 4-5 months and heve never even been pulled over for it. I live in Jax, Fl. and have had many officers behind me I also have blue l.e.d.s and still no prob. Most officers dont harrass bikes for that because it makes them easier to see therefore that makes it safer.
here's some southerly advice that may come in handy down the road a piece... Next time you are too drunk to drive, walk to the nearest pizza shop and place a delivery order. When they go to deliver it, catch a ride home with them.

I kept my 05' Kat OEM, but am wondering if the 06's, with the clear lenses, are in violation per the cited statute above? I assume only the lense cover is clear and the amber light is underneath.

The clear lenses on the 06' models are fine because they have an amber bulb inside that obviously flashes an amber color, which is what is required by law... So, you are correct in your assumption.

I'm with the rest on this one. When I bought my bike, the previous owner inserted a blue bulb into the "third eye" (bulb above the headlights). The state inspector was having a great time putting the FAIL sticker on the paperwork when I went to get it inspected. He said that blue is strictly reserved for law enforcement, etc...

they look good on a bike but can become a cop/legal issue.

Like you stated it was a blue bulb it would shine blue therefore illegal mine still shines red in the rear and amber in front =legal
