  • Katana back at home after a lengthy spa treatment.

My '82 Kat is back home after a long winter at the shop having some well-deserved beauty treatments completed. Took it in last fall to have the frame, wheels and other assorted steel parts powder coated. I also wanted the carbs rebuilt and have a good once-over, since the bike had been sitting in my garage for a few years while it waited it's turn to be re-done.

It came out very nice, I still have alot of small cleaning and polishing to do, a clutch cover to replace, replace pitted screws, fasteners and the like, but it's very presentable.

Before I owned it, this bike was living along Florida's Atlantic coast, soaking up sun and lovely salt air...... it was a mess, all the steel parts were rusty.... and looked horrible. The engine was a mess, also, and still needs a few parts replaced. But, with new tires, brakes, tune-up, oil change, etc. it's a least back on the road.

    Thanks for indulging me....

Looks great! If that were mine, I don't know if I could actually ride it - too pretty! Well...I'd ride it, just not as my daily commuter racking up the miles.

It won't be my daily driver, but it will get a workout on the weekends!

Love that year and style but, don't care a whole lot for the style of the seats. But beautiful bikes. I would kill for one. Good work getting her up to par.

2 for sale on CL in my area
1 looks like the above bike, $5k
The other looks like it's been abandoned and forgotten and left outside to rust rot and die for about 20 years and is consequently $700 I think. So if you REALLY want a project...

Will do. Looks like the monsoons have stopped here in Indiana, should be on it, tomorrow.
