  • Swingarm question

Hi, I'm new to these forums, just sold my Ninja, and Making the move to a Katana.

I'm considering buying a 96 Katana--the only problem is that the swing arm is bent. Will any swing arm from 88-96 work for the 96, or are they year specific? Thanks

    well, 88-97 600's will work
    89 -97 750 will work
there is 1 1/2" difference between the 600 and 750.

Thanks for the quick reply man. Yeah, I should have mentioned that it was a 600.

I look forward to getting to know you guys.

Is it pretty easy to switch out if I have something to prop the back on?

Shouldn't be a problem if you have the center stand. Although, one of the bolts on the suspension knuckle is north of 100 ft lbs, so you'll need a good torque wrench.

I did the swap - went from a 600 swingarm and shock to a 750 swingarm and shock and am very happy with the results.

I have one of each sitting in my shed too, if yer interested.
