Hi everyone, i'm pretty new to Katanas, but no stranger to motorcycles. Most people would think i'm crazy for going from a zx6r to a kat...wait actually maybe I am crazy. I have always heard so much trash talk about kanatunas but when I was between bikes and found a wrecked 2000 for $400 I couldn't resist. I bought it as a non-running bike that had been stored for a couple years. I went through the carbs, changed the oil, plugs...you know the drill. It ends up the petcock was clogged by a little o-ring and that is why the bike wasn't running and was stored to begin with. I rebuild the petcock and started cruisin. I am so happy with the bike. It isn't a speed demon but it keeps me satisfied, and it has half the miles of my old ninja so the crisp gearbox is a breath of fresh air. Plus who could have a problem with the suspension of a crotch rocket and the comfort of a sport touring (not this guy). stripped it down to bare bones!! that is kind of my style with bikes. I did a little custom stuff here and there, cut all the brackets off the frame, added a round headlight, and made a bracket to use the stock taillight. I added led strips on the frame for rear signals and I know some of you edgy guys on here are going to dig my tach location! Anyway, just saying hi. I still have a lot to do on this bike but you know...time...priorities. As it sits I have 2 weeks of after work labor in it and thats it.
