  • 90 Kat custom Plastic?

I've done the search and I've come up empty. But I apologize if there is already a thread out there regarding this topic.
I was taking a good look at the plastic on my bike while I was getting it ready for winter and it seems that the years have taken it's toll and the previous owner didn't take very good care of the body despite the custom paint. Alot of cracks, scuff, missing parts, half *** hard ware.

I want to repaint over the off season, and it will require a lot of filling, sanding and plastic welding. (read the tutorial on how to paint etc) I always weigh my time and pain vs how much to just straight out pay for something.

So the question is this, is there 90 Kat 600 custom fairing and front cowling out there? If so where can it be found?

On a side note I checked OEM and it seems like there alot of the 90 Kat 600 fairing parts that are discontinued, am I reading stuff wrong?

    Any input is welcome
    Thanks
    Greg

Majority of Kat parts are discontinued, or being discontinued... most new fairings now days are going to be aftermarkets that are close, but not exact matches/fits.

I would recomend avoiding fiberglass replacements... try to stick with ABS.

About the only way to get originals now, are to find them used.

you might be able to mix and match all the parts you need on ebay... that's how i get everything i need... as far as brand new oem parts... you'll never find them... its either going to be getting used ones, aftermarket (you have to fit them), or good ol' plastic welding.

Is there a bike out there that just happens to match a pre 600 fairing. Would any kits from this site work?
AirTech has the motorcycle fairings, fenders, tail sections, seats, and gas fuel tanks you are looking for!

That place just resells Maier fairings.

                  I heard about these fairings

They are fiberglass..but a lot thicker than normal fiberglass. He lists on Ebay a good bit.

Also..he's in California. So his LH fairing will have the same oil access port as the RH, since CA bikes had a fan in there on the carbs. (CA emission bikes).

I've been extremely lazy about working on the Kat lately..but fixing even mashed up ABS fairings is really easy and doesn't take that much time.

I've gotten one ready for primer...

Got a tweaked piece of plastic? Some roughed up paint? Here's the place to get some tips on repairing your Suzuki Katana.

                  It really is that easy.
