leather vs textile

Hey,

First off I want to say that im NOT talking about mesh, mesh melts and should be considered a very heavy sunblock

anyway, Im looking into buying a textile jo rocket jacket (big bang blk/blk) and I was just wondering how well textile holds up compaired to leather.

I want something thats cooler and lighter than leather but still protects well.

Just wanted some opinions before I go and buy one

I have a Joe Rocket Alter Ego jacket that's on it's 3rd season, and a First Gear mesh jacket on it's 4th season. Both have held up well, and I wear them for commuting.

A good textile will hold up pretty good ... major difference with leather is that if (god forbid) you take a fall ... your textile will have protected you well but will die doing it .... leather can take more of a beater before it's no good anymore.


I have mesh for those hot commuting days .... full textile for those cold canadian days and a full leather for those fun rides

textile is generally a one crash use but it should protect you.

I've got a JR speedmaster leather jacket and a textile Harddrive jacket. BOTH jackets are hot when stopped in traffic, but I prefer the leather because it's snugger and I always feel like I'm wearing a parachute when I have on my textile jacket.
