I just meant that if I don't drool over a bike,

it's not a nice bike, or that the persons work is
bad...

I think BearKat is the only KOTM I voted for that won...
Obviously LOTS of people don't share my sense of taste..
But if I'm being mean.. I'll take that critisism...

The real question, IMHO, is what you want to do with the bike (in terms of purposes it should serve). Making something that is pure eye candy is fairly easy, but making some combination that serves a specific set of purposes and is still eye candy is quite a bit harder. Do want a tourer, a railer, a stunter, a show-bike, a commuter, a what?

Obviously externally visible mods will reap the biggest one-off bang for the buck, but there are things to be said for sleepers as well... Really want to go "over the top"? Take the stock fairing mounts and figure out a whole new fairing shape from scratch as if you were a pro-level designer, then fab it up. Realize in advance you may have to cut the frame or modify it in the process to get at what you want... But the idea is to have an idea of what direction you want to head in -- it will help the rest of the ideas come to fruition.

I get where you are coming from BP. It is rare I see a bike that impresses me to the full extent. And like you, only one of my votes made to to KOTM. I have seen some nice looking bikes on here, but in each one i saw something i would change....excpt for waltari's monster. now that is a bike that impresses me. tastes can not be negotiated....but they have to be respected. just cuz i find someone's wife to be a big fat ugly cow, i would never imply it. different strokes for different folks.

It all boils down to..if u like and u r proud of it. Thats the bottom line..none of us will ride ur bike but you.. well unless u bring it to the gap and wanna trade for awhile..

My mods arent anything original..well except for maybe the dragon decals..but I love them none the less and the bike looks cool and runs good so its really whatever floats ur boat.

To Jim and Walteri and all the other KOTM winners and for that matter, all KR member who mod their bikes in any way shape or form,
