car wash

hello,i know what you are thinking!this should be in the bodyshop!but i know how to wash it i just want to know if it would hurt the bike(hot engine cold water)if i took it to the car wash?it is only about 2 min. away.if i take it when the engine is cold and drive 3 blocks away to the car wash would it be ok?washing with a bucket suxxxxx.thanks

If it rained your hot engine would get cold water on it. But i'm not sure if it would hurt it. I did take mine to the carwash I used the low pressure presoak and the low pressure spot free rinse.
I also live about 2 minutes away from my carwash.

i was always told if the engine was running it would be ok.but when the engine is off the block would crack.

just use a bucket and hose. i use the armor all gel system. takes a few minutes to get a really nice wash out of it. hot aluminum and cold water are a bad mixx though. not to mention ridding on a slippery wet seat sucks ;p
