  • as good as new....

the project bike is coming along pretty good. scoring the donar bike for parts was a blessing. every nut and bolt is either replaced, or cleaned/painted. calipers cleaned and repainted with caliper paint. we even degreased the rear fender and cleaned it up as good as new. I think it will be pretty close to "new condition" when done....and I am getting anxious to fire it up. to date, the only new parts needed was steering stem bearings and a new chain.

thanks. and I only painted the lower part of the engine. it is what is seen. the top is behind the fairing, so I didn't do it. I might though....still not sure yet. I will see what it looks like after the fairings are back on.

          Looking good

Nice work, another suzuki saved for another day. And a great use for the other one. I have restored a few bikes the same way. Makes me miss my GSX 750 ez 1982. Now there is a bike!! (mine was red and I put a round headlight on it) I ended up with 3 different 750's of different ages.

          Enjoy.

yes....dupli-color silver wheel paint. I chose wheel paint because usually wheels take more abuse. I did a cross hatch test and it seems to adhere pretty good. if it doesn't hold up, I will take the other frame and powdercoat it and swap it over next summer. I hope I don't have to though because the frame looks really good right now.
