Congrats on the new bike!!!
I've never ridden a GS500, so I can't tell you what to expect different.
Just start off slow, and go with it as you get more confident on it.

I did do some research where people say the katana is really top heavy on slow u turns etc. Is this true? i had to take a motorcycle saftey course about three years ago and while i passed everything, written and riding, my biggest problem was the test where they make you start off in a full turn. I dropped my gs500 the first time and nailed the turn my second time up. I still think thats the hardest to do on any bike. It just feels like the bike is going to tip over but they just tell you to look up and through the turn and accelerate slightly and the bike will follow suit....maybe i should take the plastics off for the first couple of weeks. just to be sure. Did yall do that....just to get used to it without worring about scratching that expensive plastic?
