What should the compression range be for each cylinder on a 2000 GSXF 750? Going to check out this bike this weekend and give it a thorough once over before I buy it.

Also what is the recomended size of the front tire. The bike will need a new one.

Ideal: around 150 psi per cylinder, all cylinders within 10% of each other.

Minimums for me to buy it: 135 psi per cylinder, all cylinders still within 10% of each other.

Industry minimums: 120 psi per cylinder, all cylinders within 10% of each other. 120 is normally considered the calling card to redo the engine.

Walk away from any 6 year old bike with less than 140 PSI in any cylinder, or with a greater than 10% spread on the readings between the cylinders, IMHO.

Tires: 150/70ZR17 rear, 120/70ZR17 front. Best choice for that bike is Metzeler Z6 Roadtecs. Cheapest vendors are:
    AmericanMotoTire.com
    RonAyers.com
    DennisKirk.com

How does one check the compression? Is there a specific tool? I'd appreciate any input.

        Thanks
