  • 89 Kat 1100 Fork positioning in tree?

Had a marginal mechanic put in my progressive springs and now the attitude of the bike is all wrong - nose is way too high.

Does anyone know how much of the fork tubes should be sticking through the top of the tripple tree on this bike?

    Thanks!

I didn't know the answer but asked someone that did. he responded normally they would be flush with the top of the triple tree. but new springs would raise the front end because they are stiffer.. hope this helps

Do you know if he used the spacers or not?

Pretty sure there isnt' enough of a diff between the 89 and my 93 to matter, but I DIDN'T use the included spacers, and all is well. It's all there in the destructions.

If he did, it may be contributing to your issue.

          Food for thought.

no it doesn't, 3mm down is 1988, 1989-on is "not specified".

Ok. Bolt it up that way, then.
