Default So I'm an idiot..How do I remove the Throttle Cables?

So I went todo the valve adjustments the other day. Got everything out of the way and got familiar with taking the bike apart . But I couldn't seem to find out how to get the damn throttle cables out of my way to pull the head off. I assume that I could pull them off by taking the grip assembly apart, but it looks like that phillips head screw is jacked on my bike Any suggestions? Am I just an idiot because I cant figure out how to take the damn throttle cables off?

Thanks in advance,

Ian

http://www.billsbikesnservice.com/cam.htm

It's for a bandit, but the procedure is still the same, it has pics and everything.

We'll know the extent of my idiocy after I get the valves adjusted...when you see a thread labeled "Is it bad for my valves to contact the pistons?"...

Thanks for the help! Looks easy to throw some new cams in these, even maybe rip off the head and do a little polishing job!

No need to remove cables to adjust valves! Much easier to pull airbox. Pull carbs off and hang carbs out of the way.

Hang them? From the throttle cables?? From where?

Um, I'd rather take the 2 seconds it takes to take the cables off than to F one up...

I just choose to ride the right bike and don't bother removing any cables
