If you know someone with a milling machine the absolute very best thing for that type of spring is a piece of round bar about 3/8" dia with a round/curved section cut out (about same diameter as pin) its much safer than a screwdriver to lever with. They sell a spring levering tool but its pretty easy to make (could probably drill down the length of a piece of bar for 1/4" and cut off one side to get same effect?)
