  • Fairing stay/Gauge stay/Cowl stay ??

OK so some of you know I wiped out at the Rally in Socal. Now I have a bent fairing stay and two of the gauges are popped out and sitting crooked.......still work though. Bent upper fairing ears too. My question is can these be heated up bent back in place or should I just get a whole stay bracket off e-bay? I found one for 30 bucks!

Used will probably get you the same thing.... a slightly tweaked fairing stay.

New, or fix yours is what I would suggest... unless yours is so far out it's unfixable.

I bought one that was a little rusty, but it was otherwise straight for close to nothing

Well it all depends on how lucky you are, with buying a used stay.

I've purchased THREE at this point.

First one was just slightly tweaked where one of the mirror bolts threads in. Other wise okay, but wouldn't allow but one mirror bolt to thread in.

Bought another one from a KR member...it was tweaked and missing a piece. He was nice enough to send me a replacement free. Turns out that one LOOKED totally straight..but the front was shifted enough the gauges wouldn't mount at all.

Ended up using a "junk" stay I had from some other parts. It's still slightly tweaked...I've given up on used. I'm going to buy a new Suzuki OEM part when I finish painting my spare plastics.
