Person listing the swap is noted and hot linked to their post/ ride.

    Pre 98 600:

Bandit 1200 2nd generation (meanstrk), CtandC
    Notes:
    Raises rear at least 2"
    Heavier spring rate
    Bonus for 2 up riding.

    98+ stock shock(floxera)
    Notes:
    "bolts right in"
    Remote fluid res.
    Geared for Kat weight.

    Gsxr 750 1990-1992 (floxera, meanstrk)
    Notes:
Not rated for extra weight of the Kat
If used will most likely need rebuild.

    Gsxr 1100 1990-1992 (floxera)
    Notes:
If used will most likely need rebuild.
Some are mis-labled and 93+ do not fit.

    RF900 (mystahagy, Waltari)
    Notes:
    Direct bolt on.
Offers GSXR adjustment but is sprung for Kat type weight.
Will need mount for remote resv.

    '00 GSXR 750. (SlytlyDeranged)
    Notes:
    Battery box needs adjustment.
    Raises rear height.
    Adds adjustability.

    '99 - '06? Hayabusa (moonlit)(Deanocing w/ pics!)

    Notes:
Battery Box needs to move back ~2"
Splash guard needs to be trimmed
(where splash guard bolts to battery box)
This is to clear room for piggy back reservoir.

No information on increased ride height but similar Gixxer shock adds
    1 1/4 inches

    Pre 98 750

    Bandit 1200 2nd generation (Gytrdunkat)
    Notes:
    Raises rear at least 2"
    Heavier spring rate
    Bonus for 2 up riding.
Knuckle (bottom link) may need to be modified..

    98+ stock shock(floxera)
    Notes:
    "bolts right in"
    Remote fluid res.
    Geared for Kat weight.
shock only, dog bones and link will not match pre 98 swing arm

    Gsxr 750 1990-1992 (floxera, meanstrk)
    Notes:
    Unsprung weight may effect damping.
If used will most likely need rebuild.

    Gsxr 1100 1990-1992 (floxera)
    Notes:
If used will most likely need rebuild.
Some are mislabeled and 93+ do not fit.

    RF900 (Waltari)
    Notes:
Not direct bolt on. Some modification needed to bolt holes.
Offers GSXR adjustment but is sprung for Kat type weight.

    '99 - '06? Hayabusa (moonlit)
    Notes:
Battery Box needs to move back ~2"
Splash guard needs to be trimmed
(where splash guard bolts to battery box)
This is to clear room for piggy back reservoir.

No information on increased ride height but similar Gixxer shock adds
    1 1/4 inches

I attempted to add a similar shock to my pre 750.
If the Hayabusa fits on the 600 I have no reason to believe it will not fit
    a pre 750.

    ZX14 (loudnlow7484)
The battery box needs to be moved slightly.

    06-08 R6 (loudnlow7484, SGTJimbo_Kat600 Good photos in both links)
The bottom bolts are 12mm, bushings are needed.
This shock LOWERS the bike by ~1/2".
Is adjustable for high and low speed compression damping, rebound damping.
The battery box needs to be moved slightly.

    Post 98 600

    RF900 shock (Ekim)
Notes: raises rear 1 1/2 inches.

I definitely agree with Waltari but that adjustment is a minor one.

note if considering the bandit 1200, 2" is pretty tall and will quicken steering a good bit; however, this may be a good option for those who install luggage and / or are "plus" sized

I NEVER said to use 1st Generation Bandit shock. I have a 2nd Gen Bandit and the shock from that is on my Katana.

          Everything else applies though.

My Gixxer shock was from a 94 Gix 750. Those statements apply as well, but it was a good shock for solo riding for the most part. A little more spring would have made a load of difference.

The bandit does but if you want a more aggressive shock for the bike go with a RF900 shock or a GSXR shock. The GSXR will set the rear of the bike a bit higher though

it says the bandit raises the rear 2inchs does the gixxer raise it more? does it do what i want as well, make the rebound a bit stiffer

I'm currently working on putting a rf900 shock on my 99 600. I'll post when I'm done and let you know how it goes.
