Rebuilding the front forks at the moment, using new racetech springs. would use emulators but that didnt quite make it into the budget this winter.

stripped down the tank to find plenty of bodyfiller, so looks like I'll be cleaning that up a bit.

anyone know if it is necessary to shorten the spacer that comes with the racetech springs? mine are about 2 mm shy of 9 inches

finished rebuilding the forks with racetech springs, thanks to advice from Tmod.

did a little more small parts painting. started with a metallic basecoat.

and topped that off with an anodized-like blue.

also painted the calipers and added the HEL lines.

Looks good so far man!! Keep going at it even if its little by little and I see what you mean by my headlight being too high for your taste (not that I don't completely disagree) lol I'd say yours is too low for my taste but thats the whole thing about building it your way, its your way, do what you want and you like.

Maybe I missed it but what was the story behind the motor?

its all about stiking a balance, now that I've removed the speedo that was just above the headlight I may be raising it an inch or 2 to fill the gap.

the whole thing with the engine was I had bought the bike with a bad 2nd gear, I was only expecting to use the kat for maybe a season just to get back into riding, but with the love at first ride syndrome I couldnt let her go, and not long after I had put up on here that I needed a new engine (since a new engine is quicker, as well as cheaper than fixing the original) mreedohio told me he had a rolling chassis with a much newer engine than my original one. and it turned out there was other things I could use to make my kat a little better such as the well swap. but that is the basics of that.
yea its not an upgrade in power but I dont need that just yet.

i hear ya completely I'm not sure yet but I may take another stab at it and try to find the location that makes me happy.

I was just curious about the motor, I'm going to be looking to to an upgrade in that area pretty soon here.

Yes, yes it does. To be honest for some reason I never really thought that the levers from a Post's would work for the Pre's. Also I never thought that the ones from an SV would work either. Could you get a better picture of the ones on the bike? and did the work for both sides?
