  • Interchangeable Rims?

    Hello all,

I just wanted to confirm here, before buying a set of used rims.

The rims on pre98 kat 600 and 750s are the same yes? That is, they are interchangeable?

    thanks

Yes they are the same rims. You can go with the 98+ rims if you want. This will give you a 3.5 up front and a 4.5 in the rear. You can get more tire choices that way. But the pre98's 600 and 750's use the same rims. If you like you can put the 98+ rotors on the front. They are a direct bolt on replacement.

So any "Katana" rims will do then. I had no idea.

      Thanks for the info

Just remember that for the rear, you will also need the brake rotor since the bolt pattern is different. Also, in the front..... the tire "may" rub the fender with 98+ wheels depending on tire size used.

No other issues except to avoid using a front wheel off a 2003 or newer bike. Up to then they still have the speedo drive provision.

BTW...... I have a set of pre 98 wheels with rotors and cush drive for sale. They also have polished edges on them and are in excellent condition.
