  • header springs

    I recently bought a wrecked 92 gsx600f
Now I already have a 92 gsx750f that I am using for parts
The header on the 600 was smashed from the front when it was wrecked. So I used the header from the 750 I have. My question is that the 750 header I am using is it aftermarket because it requires springs the go from each tube to the flange where it bolts to the head the ( smashed header doesn't)my other question is where can find these springs

why dont you just drop the 750 motor in the 600 frame?

The 600 runs great as it is and I cannot get the 750 to run. If I could here the 750 run I would definitely swap lol

I've already swapped front ends so now the bike is movable and runs. I'll be sure to upload a thread of the build. Once I get some more pics I just want to be able to take it for a test ride and figure out what all else I'll need to buy and or replace to make sure the bike is in good shape to be ridden

          Post a pic?
I'm pretty sure that's aftermarket. You'll probably lean the bike out a lot since the 750 header will flow more than the 600, I'd recommend a jet kit for taking care of that.

I believe 2 Brothers Exhausts are like that. The downtubes (headers) come down and the midpipe (connects the headers to the can) use springs to hold them to the headers as they simply slip on. Then the Can slips on to the midpipe and uses springs to hold it in place. That's custom buddy. Do you have one can or two? Thats another tell tale sign, stock katana exhausts have two cans.

Yeah, IIRC Two Brothers exhausts use springs, as do Delkevic systems, and a few others. Definitely not an OEM header->midpipe system.

It's a 4 into 1 system with one can. Both bikes have the 4 into 1 so that's why I thought it could be factory. I didn't know the stock exhaust system was 4 iinto2. Thanks guys for the info and I'll see if I can figure out how to post a pic from my phone.

Too small to see anything, but..

My bet would be it's a V&H system.

If that is the case, you can buy V&H system parts ... complete spring kits with a puller tool and all.

Simple google search will find you locations selling those.
