UK 14 digit VIN /Frame number Decoder

Hello All,
Need help with my uk vin #
I Have an 82 GSX 1000 Katana .
The V5 has its first date of registration but for the DMV here in California I need the build date [month /year]
Anyone know how to read the 14 digits
I tried all the usual internet searches nithing happening there

According to google you can buy blank replacement VIN plates from the UK... not that I'm suggesting you get one and make up a date to add to it

my Frame number is GS100X00500044 so if I read it right I have a 1981 I think

interesting so my 81 katana wasn't registered until march 83 wonder where it was all that time?
