  • What tires do you guys run?

I just picked up a 97 katana 600 and it is going to need both tires. I am curious what kind of tires you guys like and recommend. Thanks!

              Michelin Pilot Roads...

The PR 2 lasted for ever... good tire.
The PR 3 was sticker, and much better handling on wet... but didn't last nearly as long.
About to put a set of PR 4s on mine next.

I'm running Pirelli Angel GTs, was torn between those or the PR4s but went with these because riding in the wet isn't a concern.

The 4 lasts longer than the 3, but not as long as the 2. The 3 does have awesome wet weather grip. On the 4s that I've run I never really had much rain. (Thanks Cali drought....)

PR3, they have been ok. I'm looking forward to moving on to the PR4s.

I'm in the market too for a fresh set and I have my mind set on Dunlop Roadsmart III .. the II's were excellent in both grip and durability, and the reviews are looking even better for the 3rd series.

I wouldn't put dunflops on a lawn mower....just my dislike for any Dunlop.

Dunlop make good motorbike tires, I've had the Roadsmart II's on since 2012 .. they lasted 27000 km, that's about 17000 miles and still have some breath in them, that's why I'm willing to try out their 3rd series, hopefully they will be just as good.

An alternative for me would be the Metzeler roadtec z8 .. it's now down to asthetics really between the two.

I rarely, if ever ride in the rain .. so the PR4's with all their grooves and nodes are unnecessary for me, and I know this may sound silly .. but I really don't like the look of them .
