  • I need help 91 katana 600 gas tank!

I took off my gas tank a couple weeks ago and I have been restoring my bike. I was pretty inebriated at the time I was doing this part and I do not remember what goes to what.

I only have one hose that appears to be coming from the carb area? However, there are 3 other holes minus the petcock/fuelfilter..

Can you guys please help me identify what connects to what. I only have one hose that I see..

I have included a pic and numbered the hose bibs to make it easier to distinguish and reference.

I know for sure that #1 goes to the petcock/fuel filter
I think #3 goes to the hose that looks to go down by the carb area..(please correct me if im wrong)
I am lost on the last two #2 and #4

    thank you :cheers

    Vent/drain hoses

I don't have #3 on mine, so I'm guessing you got one of those foreign bikes with the emissions stuff?

#2 and #4 just have hoses that run under the bike..
#2 is for fuel you spill into the filler cap lip when filling up badly and #4 vents the sender unit.
#3? ... Let me check my book
[edit] Looks like it hooks up into your emissions unit by a hose.

Any nipple should have a rubber hose/vent tube on it and routed out to the bottom of the bike, if an overflow of fuel should exit one of those nipples, say fuel gets into the alternator you could start a fire. if your bike end up on it side fuel would leak into the well of the gas cap and would vent out of the nipple.
Please put a hose on it (: ).

Have to disagree with this, on principle

im sure almost that your last hose is for a vent tube, can you check for a loose hose around the exhaust its kinda like an over fill tube
