Alright, so the compressor and the stock tool kit...

along with a bunch of the other stuff when I cleaned my chain on Wednesday before leaving
        And a rag with WD40

You're singing a different song when you need it and don't have it
It comes down to what you are actually willing to fix sitting on the side of the road. Yeah, you can carry enough tools for a full engine out rebuild, but are you going to do it. We're here in the US, even in the remotest places, odds are, you can get a tow.

With the Connie, camping, (so long as the tent fits in the pannier,) I should be able to get everything for 2+ weeks in the panniers. We need to do some packing classes.

I think I packed just fine. With access to laundry I could have stayed on the road all season.

            Kinda Steep but cool.
You can get a full givi set up for 1/3 that, get all three cases and strap anything extra behind you on the seat. Then you have 2K for the trip .

Or if your seriously interested, start looking on CL or ebay for a used one cheap.

            BTW here's another company
http://www.uni-go-trailers.com/ there's vids on youtube too.

            on a vfr

You had a sink right? (I'm not proud... or rich)

A trip like that kind of makes you want to stay on the road doesn't it?

In the bags? No Although I probably could have improvised one with some rain covers and tape.

Although the panniers on the Sprint are surprisingly small volume wise vs. other hard bags.
